Following Tuesday's massive electoral rejection of Barack Obama's policies, the alleged president conducted a news conference to acknowledge that the voters had spoken...but, well, he isn't actually listening.
To hear him tell it, the big message voters were sending was "you need to move your agenda ahead faster." Ummm, no.
Obama conceded that some people may have felt that he didn't do enough to enact his promise to "change how things are done in Washington" because, in his rush to enact Obamacare, he didn't change how things were done. And although he promised to eliminate earmarks, he admits that he signed lots of bills with huge earmarks because he "had to."
In other words, judging him on his deeds instead of his words gives people the wrong impression.
For instance, the president says that he's going to crack down on spending and deficits, and is going to discuss it with newly-empowered Republicans in a meaningful way "in a few weeks"... after he returns from his $200 million a day "Avoid The American Press" overseas tour which is starting immediately.
In other words, Mr. Hope and Change has no intention of changing just because of the hopes, and votes, of millions of frustrated Americans.
